Tank Flow

is used for estimating the total pressure, velocity and flow from a water tank. The total pressure estimate takes into account vapor pressure, atmospheric pressure and water pressure. Vapor pressure is related to water temperature selected from a drop down list box. Atmospheric pressure varies with the value entered for elevation relative to sea level. Water pressure depends on the value entered for the tank water level relative to the spout centerline. The flow depends on the values entered for spout diameter and a coefficient for entry and exit losses. These parameters play an important role in matching tanks with fire pumps.

Pipes

         A single key press or mouse click gives you access to 7 different kinds of sprinkler piping. There are over 60 built-in diameters for Steel, XL, Copper, Dynaflow, CPVC, PVC and Ductile Iron. Pipe sizes may be entered as nominal (1, 1.25,1.5, ...) or actual (1, 1.049, 1.380,...) diameters. There are 7 different fitting symbols. Multiple fittings are easily described e.g. 4E3T means four elbows and three tees. Fittings may also be entered as total equivalent lengths of pipe. Use the Pipe Table Editor and enter your own unique values for diameters, fitting symbols and fitting lengths.
